Want to Know Where To Spend Your Time?
Check out some well known spaces and some not so well known hidden gems at the Delaware Beaches.
Jungle Jim's Water Park - Rehoboth
Jungle Jim's has everything you'd expect a water park at the beach to have - multiple water slides, pools, bumper boats, go karts, lazy river, and more. If you have kids, this is a great place to spend the day.
Lefty's Alley & Eats - Rehoboth
If you're looking for everything to have a good night all in one place, Lefty's has it. They host a full bowling alley with "lounge lanes," full couches with tables in between (Think Top Golf style), a completely packed modern arcade, restaurant, bar, laser tag, axe throwing, outdoor dining, and drive in movie theater.
There is quite literally something for everyone at Lefty's!
Cape May - Lewes Ferry
If one vacation isn't enough for you, take a vacation while on vacation! The ferry connects the Delaware Beaches to the Jersey Shore. It was recently upgraded all over and has gift shops and food. A short trip across the water will open up a completely new world of additional beaches, including Wildwood - one of the most popular beaches in the country.
The ferry also supports car transport, so all you have to do is drive on and you're there!
Cape Henlopen State Park - Lewes
"Cape" as it's affectionately known to locals, is a great spot to take the family any day you're in town. It has it's own beaches that are typically less crowded than the two main beaches in Rehoboth and Lewes. Nature trails run throughout the park, so if hiking or jogging are your thing you'll find a lot to do here.
There is also a full disk golf course, playgrounds, open fields for games, and a small boardwalk to take views of the park and the ocean. If you're a history buff, you can also tour the many watch towers and bunkers built during World War Two that still stand to this day.
Thrasher's Fries - Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk
Is it even a trip to Rehoboth without getting a bucket of these fries that you couldn't finish if your life depended on it? Many time's referred to as "the best fries in the world," if you ask for ketchup at the counter you'll get scolded. Thrashers will offer you salt and vinegar and nothing else.
I personally think they are great straight how they come out, but make em your own!
The Ice Cream Store - Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk
Featured in magazines and TV shows across the country, the Ice Cream Store will have a flavor for anyone. They carry around 100 different flavors at any one time, and rotate them frequently. They also have fresh waffle cones that you can see being made behind the counter. Getting something from here is definitely a memory you'll want to make on your trip.
My personal favorites are "Netflix and Chill," "Better than Sex," and "Crack," I know. I know. Crazy names. Equally crazy good.
